Clouding Thoughts in Layers

Anitha’s art practice began in 2015. Being a homemaker primarily, her house and the objects associated with it have been a major influence in her art so far. She strongly feels the need to portray a homemaker’s perspective on various topics, even on those that are beyond the four walls of the house. She is drawn towards symbolism and concepts, finds textures fascinating to paint. Her paintings have a concept, a history and some geographical locations behind their existence. Still life, domesticity, migration, emotions and feelings, nostalgia, culture – these themes have resonated with her art practice so far.
