VERONIKA ZEIL
TiNegra, 2020
acrylic on canvas
Framed: 94cm x 94cm
With inspiration taken from Batswing Coral Trees (erythrina vepertilio), Veronika has captured the straggly, bat-shaped leaves in her sweeping brush strokes. During the winter and spring months while leafless, brilliant scarlet and orange red pea flowers are produced.

Born in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, Veronika Zeil is a self-taught artist and has explored art through a variety of media. Her drawings, paintings, mosaics, sculptures, short stories and poetry explore our psyhcological relationship to surroundings, the unstable interface of nature and culture, human frailty, and search for place. The works journey from the seemingly mundane to a discovery of the lyrical in our everyday life. In 2011, Veronika was admitted to Monash University on merit and graduated in 2013 with a Masters of Visual Art.
